Baosteel building HRC steelplant in Zhanjiang
Baosteel Group has commenced the construction of a steelplant, continuous casting and hot rolling complex in Zhanjiang in the south of Guangdong province, China. It is aimed at the medium and high-end market and is scheduled to come into operation around 2016.

UN investigates Posco India land dispute
Posco’s proposed 12Mt/y steel plant to be built near the port of Paradip in the Jagatsinghpur coastal district of Odisha (former Orissa) state of NE India which was first announced nearly a decade ago now has to satisfy the United Nations Human Rights Agency that the land so far earmarked for the project has been acquired legally and adequate compensation given to displaced persons.
