Breakdown and planned maintenance outage to have negative effect on Q4 2016 and Q1 2017 results
Steel production at SSAB's Oxelösund plant in Sweden will restart one and a half weeks later than scheduled due to a breakdown at the rolling mill a planned maintenance outage.

Chinese exports to Latin America up by 1%
Comparing January to October 2016 with the same period last year (2015), the Latin American Steel Association (Alacero) claims that Chinese steel exports to the world – including long steel, flat steel and seamless pipes – increased by 1%. The figure also includes steel derivatives, such as wire products and welded tubes.

US steel shipments up 0.9% says AISI
US steel mills shipped 6.8Mt (net tons) of steel in October 2016, a rise of 0.9% on September 2016 but a decrease of 7.3% when compared with October 2015 (7.3Mt).
