OTO complete tube mills for leading European steel producer
SSAB Europe, a leading steel producer of high-quality strip, plate and tube products, has contracted Fives, a French global engineering group, to handle design, production and supply of two complete OTO tube mill lines.

Russian steelmaker scores high
Sustainalytics, an independent global provider of ESG and corporate governance research and ratings to investors, has increased Russian steelmaker Severstal’s rating from 54 to 70 points (out of a possible 100) in 2018, placing the company in eighth position out of 42 metallurgical companies from around the world. Sustainalytics also placed Severstal in its “leader” category.

UK Steel welcomes post-Brexit trade remedies measures
Commenting on the Secretary of State’s announcement and publication of the definitive list of trade remedies measures to be transitioned after Brexit, UK Steel Director General, Gareth Stace, commented: “We warmly welcome the confirmation from the Government that 15 anti-dumping tariffs crucial to UK steel producers will be transitioned over in time for Brexit. These measures are essential to the future competitiveness of steel production in the UK, ensuring we do not become the dumping ground of Europe in the event of an abrupt departure from the bloc at the end of March.
