SDI 2010 sales at $6.3bn and $141M net profit
US minimill Steel Dynamics, Inc (SDI) announced a net income of $141M for the full year 2010 on net sales of $6.3bn across its five divisions. This compares with a 2009 net loss of $8M, on net sales of $4.0bn.Q4 net income of $8M on net sales of $1.0bn was down on Q4 2009 when net income was $27M, on net sales of $1.2bn. World crude steel output increases 15% in 2010
World crude steel production reached 1414 million metric tonnes (Mt) for the year 2010, according to the World Steel Association which represents 170 steel producers account for 85% of world steel output.
