Chinese coke may hit 450Mt in 2012
Growth of China’s coke production is expected to slow down to 5% in 2012 from the 11.8% in 2011 due to factors such as decreasing crude steel output growth, rising coke production cost, and increasing losses for coking companies in the period 2011-2015 (the12th Five Year Plan).

Chinese output up 8.9% in 2011
China’s crude steel output increased 8.9% year-on-year to 683.27Mt in 2011, a reduction of 0.4% compared with the growth rate of 2010, according to the latest data provided by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the country’s top economic planner.
