China’s coke output to slow in 2012
China’s coking industry is likely to see slower growth a the rate of output and sales in 2012 on the slowing worldwide economy and slack demand from the steel industry, says the China Coking Industry Association.

Baosteel output falls 5.2% on stainless division sale
Baoshan Iron and Steel (Baosteel), China’s largest listed steel producer, is expected to produce 25.25Mt of crude steel in 2012, down 5.2% year on year from the 26. 64Mt in 2011, said Ma Guoqiang, general manager of Baosteel on April 10.

German capacity exceeds 90% utilisation in March
German crude steel production in March was 3.9Mt an increase of 9.0% on the previous month but below that for March 2011.
