Latin American crude steel production falls 11%
Latin American finished steel consumption fell 12% during H1 2016 while crude steel and finished steel production dropped 11% and 7% year-on-year respectively, according to a report from the Latin American Steel Association (Alacero).

Vietnamese steelmaker awards cold strip contract to Danieli
Italian steel production technology specialist Danieli has been awarded an order for the design and supply of all the equipment for a new cold strip complex capable of producing 600kt/yr of pickled/cold-rolled/ galvanised coil, with a final thickness down to 0.14 mm.

World crude steel production up 1.4%, says worldsteel
World crude steel production for the 66 countries reporting to the World Steel Association (worldsteel) was 133.7Mt in July 2016, up 1.4% on July 2015.
