The World Steel Association (worldsteel) has published the 2011 edition of World Steel in Figures. It is now available at

World Steel in Figures provides facts and statistics about the global steel industry. The book contains information on crude steel production, apparent steel use, pig iron production, steel trade, iron ore production and trade, and scrap trade.

World Steel in Figures lists the top steel-producing countries and worldsteel member companies. In 2010 the five major steel producing countries were China, Japan, USA, India and Russia

Total world production was 1,413.5 mmt in 2010, up from 1,230.9 mmt in 2009.

The largest five steel producing worldsteel member companies in 2010 were ArcelorMittal, Baosteel, Posco, Nippon Steel and JFE
