voestalpine Böhler Welding has acquired a majority stake in the premium welding wire manufacturer ITALFIL S.p.A. The Italian company employs 110 people and has achieved an annual turnover of EUR 43 million in the past business year. voestalpine says the acquisition expands its product portfolio, particularly in the semi and fully automated high-quality welding technology sector.
voestalpine Böhler Welding is part of the Metal Engineering Division of voestalpine AG and claims to 'set new standards worldwide for standard and special welding processes'. The company is a full-range supplier of welding solutions and offers a portfolio of services, welding consumables, accessories, and welding equipment.
voestalpine is a globally leading steel and technology group with around 500 Group companies and locations in more than 50 countries on all five continents.
Franz Kainersdorfer, member of the management board of voestalpine AG and head of the metal engineering division of the company, commented: "This acquisition brings us a significant step closer to our strategic goal of providing our customers with holistic solutions in the field of welding technology.
