A study by the Metal Service Center Institute reported that the service center and metal production industries support 2.5 million jobs in the US and is a dynamic part of the economy accounting for more than $552bn or over 3.5% of the nation’s GDP.
Service centers are a critical part of the steel sector’s distribution chain and a major customer group of both domestic industry steel producers and trading companies.
