Tenova has published its 2025 Sustainability Report, outlining the progress made by its metals and mining businesses.

On top of direct reduced iron (DRI) and electric arc furnace (EAF) projects, the report highlighted the selection of TenovaLAB as a European demonstrator for hydrogen-based industrial reheating technologies through the HyTecHeat project.

Furthermore, the report showcases how five out of seven European and Italian R&D proposals have been selected for funding.

Roberto Pancaldi, CEO of Tenova Group, said: “Some of the most important things we do cannot be seen. Every day, our technologies help customers reduce emissions, save resources and improve safety, creating benefits that extend well beyond industrial facilities.

“At the same time, we continue strengthening our own sustainability journey by investing in renewable energy, robust governance and, above all, our people. Sustainability requires long-term vision, collaboration and continuous innovation. This Report reflects the progress we have made together and reinforces our commitment to engineering solutions that create lasting value for future generations.”

The report also outlined the improvements made to employee training, seeing an 8% increase on 2024.

Sara Secomandi, chief communications and sustainability officer at Tenova, added: “Preparing our Sustainability Report is an opportunity to reflect on the progress we have made, assess the effectiveness of our actions and define the next steps in our sustainability journey.

“Measuring, reporting and sharing our results year after year strengthens accountability and helps foster a culture of transparency across the entire Group. Continuous improvement begins with understanding where we are today and where we want to be tomorrow.”
