Dillinger, Europe’s leading heavy plate manufacturer, now also supplies its comprehensive product range of highly specialised security and armour steels from stock.
Having such products in stock means custom-tailored delivery, including for short-notice needs, says Dillinger.
“DIFENDER” steels have been used in the defence and security industry for many years and are approved for use by the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) in thicknesses of 6-150 mm in line with the TL2350-0000 standard. They feature high toughness combined with exceptional hardness, the company claims
“At a time when wars, crises and conflicts in our neighbourhood are restricting the security of Germany and Europe, it is important to ensure that we can continue to live in peace, freedom and security in the future. With our comprehensive DIFENDER product portfolio, which almost completely fulfils the needs of the defence industry, we have been embracing our responsibility for Germany for years and are actively working on its defence capability”, said Danny van der Hout, chief sales officer at Dillinger.

The proven security steel ‘Made in Germany’ is now available from stock: The wholly-owned subsidiary Ancofer Stahlhandel in Mülheim/Germany also stocks DIFENDER steel plate as part of its extensive list of products. “This will enable us to provide customers with tailor-made deliveries, even for short-term requirements, and strengthen our position in this growing market," says van der Hout, commenting on Dillinger’s expanded commitment to sophisticated security solutions.
With DIFENDER, Dillinger has been approved by the German Armed Forces’ Technical Centre 91 in accordance with TL2350-0000 for several years for its production site in Dillingen and for Dillinger France in Dunkirk. DIFENDER security steels are available in a total of nine different grades in thicknesses ranging from 6 mm to 150 mm and hardnesses from 270 HB to 600 HB. They are used wherever the highest safety requirements must be met: from civilian or military special protection vehicles on land and water to cash-in-transit vehicles and building protection.
