SARRALLE will aid in the development of the UMB Steel Meltshop in Oțelu Roșu, Romania, contributing key technological solutions.
Following its acquisition by UMB Steel, the plant will resume operations after 12 years, combining existing assets with the implementation of advanced steelmaking technologies.
SARRALLE will supply and integrate key mechanical, electrical and automation solutions for the new Meltshop, supporting an annual production capacity of 700,000 tons of rebars, compact coils and wire rod.
SARRALLE outlined that the integrated system enables energy savings while optimising productivity relative to the required energy input, making it a highly effective solution in terms of operational efficiency and sustainability.
Furthermore, enhanced secondary metallurgy capabilities, including new ladle furnaces and a vacuum degasser, in tandem with SARRALLE Bluesky Plant's high-capacity fume system, will further increase process flexibility, improve steel quality and reinforce overall environmental compliance.
