Salzgitter's Initiative Construction campaign is now kicking off and the German steelmaker is pooling its expertise for the German construction sector, positioning itself as a reliable partner for the implementation of the infrastructure package adopted by the German government.

The initiative combines the product and service portfolio of the Group companies and addresses the central requirements of modern infrastructure and construction projects.

Salzgitter AG claims it is providing many solutions for the construction industry along the entire value chain: from section steel and heavy plate solutions to tubes and flat steel – and all the way through to technical customer advice and logistics. Short delivery routes, reliable material availability and a strong internal network ensure a high degree of planning and execution reliability, particularly for critical and time-critical projects.

Initiative Construction provides clients, planners and construction companies with centralized access to Salzgitter AG's service portfolio. The closely interlinked Group companies work together in a co-ordinated manner to deliver products, services and technical expertise. The co-ordinated interaction, it is claimed, enables reliable processes and supports smooth project execution.

"With the Initiative Construction, we are specifically supporting the construction industry in the sustainable expansion of German infrastructure. We are connecting and combining CO₂-reduced products, technological expertise and reliable supply chains with a consistent circular economy. In this way, we are creating the foundation for durable, long-lived resource-efficient construction projects."

Gunnar Groebler, chairman of the executive board of Salzgitter AG.

Against the backdrop of sustainable building requirements, Salzgitter AG is offering SALCOS® as an expedient answer to the need for low-emission building materials. Thanks to its transformation process, Salzgitter AG is already providing low-CO₂ steel "Made in Germany". The material meets the requirements of both a modern construction industry and the stricter regulatory framework conditions, thereby making an important contribution to the sustainable modernization of German infrastructure. As Gunnar Groebler, chairman of the executive board of Salzgitter AG emphasized: "With the Initiative Construction, we are specifically supporting the construction industry in the sustainable expansion of German infrastructure. We are connecting and combining CO₂-reduced products, technological expertise and reliable supply chains with a consistent circular economy. In this way, we are creating the foundation for durable, long-lived resource-efficient construction projects."

The Initiative Construction is part of Salzgitter AG's presence at this year's Hannover Messe and represents a venue for professional exchange on solutions for infrastructure- and construction projects of all kinds.
