Primetals Technologies has received an order from Shougang Cold Rolling, to modernise the basic and process automation systems at its pickling line tandem cold mill in Shunyi, China.
Primetals stated that the modernisation will strengthen the plant’s automation infrastructure and ensure reliable, future-proof operations.
Furthermore, the automation technology will extend the life of the pickling line tandem cold mill’s control systems, simplify maintenance, and lower operating costs.
The project will also implement Chart Converter software, developed by Primetals, which enables a quick return to production after migrating automation systems.
The enhancements will support the production of high-end cold-rolled steel for automotive and home appliance applications.
Completion is scheduled for August 2026.
