Wuhan Iron and Steel Co. (WISCO) and Primetals Technologies have signed a contract for a six-strand bloom caster project in Wuhan, China.
The project is part of WISCO’s initiative to improve its production line layout, with the new caster further strengthening the company’s manufacturing capabilities in high-end areas such as rail steel and automotive.
Primetals highlighted that the project will enable stable, precise continuous casting through advanced equipment and optimised process configurations to meet stringent quality standards.
The project will integrate multiple advanced technologies, including tubular and plate moulds, the DynaFlex dual-arm oscillation system, mould and strand electromagnetic stirrers, and Dynacs 3D dynamic secondary cooling.
Primetals will provide overall design, core equipment supply and automation control systems.
