Chinese steel imports confuse European buyers, claims EUROFER
EUROFER director-general Axel Eggert has stated that while steel made in Europe 'means reliability in trade, stability of properties during processing and safety in the use of the material', the same is not guaranteed where steel imported from China is concerned – especially wire rod, rebar and bar, hot-rolled coil and heavy plate.

ArcelorMittal steel plant in Algeria to receive cash boost for expansion
ArcelorMittal's Annaba (East) steel plant in Algeria has concluded a deal with Banque extérieur d’Algérie (BEA) for two US$600 million credit lines. The money will be spent on increasing the plant's capacity.

ArcelorMittal boosts plant capacity following pipe contract extension
ArcelorMittal is to invest 15 million Euros on expanding production capacity at its Bourg-en-Bresse plant in Eastern France following an two-year extension of a five-year partnership agreement between the world's largest steelmaker and Technip, a project management, engineering and construction company serving the global energy industry.
