Outotec has signed a contract on the delivery of sintering technology for JSW Steel Limited’s (JSW) new iron ore sinter plant to be built in Toranagallu, India.

The contract includes technology and the supply of proprietary equipment. The new plant is expected to produce 2.3Mt/y of iron sinter, which will be used as feed for JSW’s blast furnaces.

Outotec’s delivery is a part of JSW’s expansion to increase its sinter capacity to 10Mt/y. Commissioning of the plant is scheduled for 2011. It is JSW’s fourth sinter plant designed with Outotec’s technology in the past five years.
