Posco’s 12Mt/y Odisha steel plant project is facing delays after it was blocked by the Orissa High Court in India.
Posco had bid for 3,717.22 acres of private land but the court refused citing section 6 (1) of the Land Acquisition Act.
The project was to be the single largest foreign direct investment in India but it has faced several delays in the past six years.
The South Korean president has appealed to the Indian government to fastrack the plan, saying the project is important for both countries.
