Nanjing Iron & Steel Co, Ltd (NISCO) signed a contract with the German company Friedrich Kocks GmbH & Co KG, of Hilden for the supply and the commissioning of a 3-roll Reducing & Sizing Block 370/4 in heavy duty design [RSB++] for a new SBQ bar mill.

NISCO is part of the Nanjing Iron & Steel Union Company Ltd with its headquarters in Nanjing and is listed on Shanghai Stock Exchange. It has approx. 11400 employees and operates blast furnaces and rolling mills with a production of 6.8Mt in 2011.

After completion the new rolling mill will produce 800kt/y of first class SBQ-bar within the range of 16 – 80mm diameter. Downstream of the roughing and intermediate mill, consisting of 20 stands, the four stand 370mm Reducing & Sizing Block will produce all finished dimensions in coils and in straight lengths onto the cooling bed. The 3-roll RSB design also enables controlled rolling at low temperatures within the range of up to 60mm diameter.

Besides the Reducing & Sizing Block with automatic quick stand changing system the scope of supply comprises the bar mill configuration program BAMICON and the remotely controlled adjustment of pass and guides of the 3-roll stands in the mill line as well as the roll shop with quick roll change and CAPAS, the computer aided system for accurate adjustment of rolls and guides in the stands. The supervision of erection, commissioning and the training of customer personnel complete the contract package.

Delivery is foreseen for the third quarter of 2013.
