Moroccan company Maghreb Steel plans to build a 1.5Mt/y flats products steel plant.
The MOR3.7bn ($435.8M) site will be on 80 hectares in the Bled Solb industrial park.
The project will be completed in four phases with start up set to start in 2010. Construction of the hot rolling complex will begin with Steckel hot rolling mill, followed by construction of the heavy plate roiling mill. The meltshop and continuous casting phase will be followed by construction of the blast furnace.
The site will create 1100 jobs.
