British metals and industrials company Liberty House has established a UKAS-accredited materials testing facility at Willenhall in the West Midlands.

The company claims that metals businesses across the country will benefit from the range of expertise available at the new laboratory, which provides mechanical, spectrographic and chemical testing and analysis and will specialise in fast turnaround services for businesses such as steel stockists, foundries, engineering operations and fabrication companies.

Known as Liberty Testing Technologies, the lab has been fully accredited by industry-leading body, UKAS, to provide services including hardness, impact, tensile and chemical testing.

The fully-equipped laboratory also provides collections and next-day certification in order to fast-track quality assurance processes.

The new business plans to expand the service further next year with the addition of a specialist metallurgical testing lab.

Douglas Dawson, CEO of Liberty Industries Group, commented: “Our business has a significant and growing product and service offering to customers that manufacture safety and performance-critical products. It’s natural, therefore, that we should use our knowledge and experience to expand the scope of what we provide to the market.
