Mumbai, India’s JSW Steel Limited has rolled the first coil at its Hot Strip Mill 2, at Toranagallu, Karnataka India.
TMEIC and TMEIC GE provided electrical and automation systems for the project.
The first coil rolled off the production line ahead of schedule and is the first step towards a production capacity of 5Mt/y.
Industrial drives and motor equipment were provided by TMEIC facilities in Japan, while the automation system and electrical system engineering were supplied by TMEIC’s GE offices in the USA.
The total project scope of supply included total system design including project management, power system studies, medium and low voltage power distribution system design, and electrical construction documentation.
