Danieli has been selected as a technology partner by JFE Steel for its green transformation and emission reduction plan. Danieli will supply and install digitally controlled EAF and secondary refining stations at the JFE Steel West Japan Works, in Kursashki. Startup is currently planned for the first quarter of 2028.

The EAF at the steel works will be one of the largest in the world in terms of tapping capacity, according to Danieli.

The Digimeltshop will include features such as a Digimelter and a Digirefiner, both equipped with the Q-One advanced power supply system, to help produce high-quality steel. A Q-One power feeder is also present, improving efficiency by reducing power and electrode consumption, which Danieli claims can minimise negative impacts on power networks and increase operational flexibility.

Q-One also allows for precise control of current, voltage and frequency, in EAF operations, which Danieli highlights as providing clear competitive advantages in terms of performance and sustainability.
