JFE Bars & Shapes (JFE BS) has selected Danieli as its technological partner in the replacement of an electric arc furnace with a Danieli Digimelter.
The 120-ton Digimelter, equipped with a Q-One system, will be installed at the Mizushima Works in the JFE Kurashiki facility of the West Japan Works.
The brownfield project will leverage existing infrastructure, such as the electrical cabin and a significant portion of the working platform, which will minimise the environmental footprint and accelerate the project timeline.
Danieli highlighted how their Q-One power feeding system allows for precise control over current, voltage, and frequency, enhancing process efficiency, lowering energy and electrode consumption.
The Q-One modular equipment aids in the feasibility of the project as well as reducing overall CapEx.
The project strengthens the long-standing collaboration between Danieli and the JFE Group, following previous assignments at JFE BS Himeji Works.
