Iranian steelmakers Khouzestan Steel (KhSC) and Mobarakeh Steel have been hit by air strikes attributed to the US and Israel.

Officials said the strikes on 27th March damaged storage facilities and power infrastructure.

As a result, the attacks are expected to reduce Iran’s billet and slab production, as well as its export capacity.

KhSC sustained hits to two storage silos, with no reported casualties or injuries.

Mobarakeh Steel suffered damage to a substation, an alloy steel line, and a power plant, according to on-site reports.

The strikes followed a strike on Foolad Atieh on 26th which killed one person and injured two.

Iranian steel producers also face gas and power shortages due to the South Pars gas field.
