Henan Jiyuan Iron and Steel has awarded Danieli the contract for the design and supply of a new bow-type continuous casting machine (CCM).
The caster will produce round blooms ranging from 600mm to 1300mm wide, primarily from alloy steel grades.
The finished products will be used in areas such as the energy and marine sectior.
The scope of the supply includes the core equipment of the new CCM, plus the related electrical and automation systems.
Danieli highlighted that the machine will feature an 18.5m radius and four strands, ensuring high productivity and operational reliability.
Danieli has previously supplied a two-strand CCM to Henan Jiyuan’s Jiyuan plant, in China.
The new plant will also adopt an upgraded copy-plant concept, enhanced with two-additional strands.
Startup is scheduled for 2027.
