Jose Noldin, CEO of hydrogen steelmaker GravitHY, made a flash trip to Brazil to be awarded with the Vicente Chiaverini Medal.

Noldin told his followers on Linkedin that he was 'so humbled and honoured' to have received the award which was established in honour of Vicente Chiaverine, a metallurgical engineer, author, researcher, professor and founding member (and past president) of ABM (Associacão Brasileira de Metalurgia, Materiais e Mineracão).

The coveted award is awarded every three years to recognize outstanding contributions to metallurgical processes and to the ABM community. For Noldin the award is 'deeply personal and motivates me even more to continue driving change and progress in the steel industry, especially in areas close to my heart, like the development of more efficient, decarbonizated, safer and business-oriented ironmaking'.

The award was made that little bit sweeter for Noldin by the presence of his wife, mother and friends as well as many role models who 'shaped my journey since I was a rookie'.

Noldin said he shares the award with all the teams and partners who have supported him in his career, particularly GravitHY where, alongside his team mates he has made considerable progress in transforming 'this vital sector for the global energy and climate transition'.

Steel Times International congratulates Jose Noldin on winning the award and wishes him well for the future.
