Eurofer said it was disappointed by the Copenhagen climate deal.
Director Gordan Moffat said the group had hoped for a global level playing field between industrial competitors worldwide. But until such a deal is reached, he said, the EU must maintain measures to protect the competitiveness of European industry.
Eurofer urged for no unilateral increase of the EU’s GHG target from 20% to 30% and an increase of financial support for R&D of carbon lean technologies in the EU.
