John Cockerill and Tata Steel have celebrated the successful production of the first coil on the Continuous Galvanizing Line (CGL1). The line is at Tata Steel’s Kalinganagar plant and was supplied and commissioned by John Cockerill.
The galvanising line incorporates the latest innovations and coating technologies, allowing for the production of high-quality coated automative steel. The first coil was produced on 9 June.
The milestone is a result of months of collaboration between the Tata Steel and John Cockerill teams. A key highlight of this was the absence of a single safety incident during the completion of the startup phase.
John Cockerill has emphasised that this achievement underscores the strength of their partnership with Tata Steel, and how it is built on a shared vision of excellence and innovation.
