Hlsarna is a breakthrough process for the production of liquid hot metal from iron ore. It will reduce CO2 emissions by at least 20% and when combined with carbon capture technology, will reduce emissions further – by around 80% over the entire steel production process. Johan van Boggelen explains the process.
