China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) will continue to reinforce the elimination of outdated industrial capacity, and to set higher goals in 2013.
The focus will be on cement, papermaking, and the lead acid battery industries but metals industries, including steel will also be targeted.
Currently, Beijing, Henan, and Shandong have started to draw up plans for closure of outdated capacity this year.
