Cargill is to buy fellow Robinson Steel’s cold-reduction lines in East Chicago, Indianapolis, and Granite City, Illinois, USA.

Cargill will take complete ownership of Cargill Robinson, a JV formed by Cargill and Robinson in 2007 and the transaction is expected to be completed by the end of January.

Robinson will continue as an independent owner and operator of its RPS Laser division with Cargill as its exclusive supplier of RPS sheet-and-plate products.

Cargill operates seven flat-rolled steel service centres with 245 employees, focusing on hot-rolled band, pickled and oiled, cold-rolled and tin mill products.
