Calderys has inaugurated the world’s largest single-site greenfield facility for refractories and steel casting fluxes in Odisha, India.

The facility has successfully commissioned its first two production lines and is well advanced in its construction program.

Michel Cornelissen, president and CEO of Calderys said: “As we continue to expand our global footprint, this new facility in Odisha opens an important new chapter for Calderys.

“India is a key market for us, and this investment reflects both our growth ambitions and our commitment to building strong, lasting relationships at the local level.”

Spanning 45 acres, the new plant will ultimately house six advanced production lines, dedicated to acidic and basic monolithics and bricks, steel casting fluxes, tap-hole clays, as well as cutting-edge quality testing units.

Acidic and basic brick lines, steel casting fluxes and taphole clay lines are currently under development and scheduled to become operational later in 2026.
