British Steel’s logo will be displayed on Scunthorpe United’s training shirts and coaching facilities for the 2025/26 football season. The Iron’s first team coaching hub will now be know as the British Steel Training Ground.
This announcement comes after British Steel, who are headquartered in Scunthorpe, signed a new community partnership with National League side for the upcoming season.
Lisa Coulson, interim chief commercial offer for British Steel, said: “If you ask people what Scunthorpe is famous for, most will say either steel or the Iron, so we’re exceptionally proud to again be working in partnership with Scunthorpe United.
“Neither of us have had the easiest of times over recent years but throughout that period we have supported each other, and we’re now looking to the future with great optimism.”
Scunthorpe United manager, Andy Butler, added: “This is another fantastic step forward for both the football club and for British Steel, and shows the strength in unity between both parties. We will be proud to wear British Steel every single day in training, and to train on the British Steel training ground, and look forward to this great partnership achieving fantastic things in the community.
“British Steel, like our proud football team, is a huge part of Scunthorpe’s identity, and it’s brilliant to be part of both working hand-in-hand once more for the good of the town.”
