Australian steelmaker BlueScope will reorganise its operations to create two businesses focused on global pre-engineered building markets and building products.
Of the divisions, BlueScope Global Building Solutions will include the company’s North American pre-engineered buildings (PEB), similar PEB units in the ASEAN region and all its China business, BlueScope said in a statement to the stock exchange.
The other division will called BlueScope Building Products and include metal coating, painting and roll-forming businesses in ASEAN and North America, the company said.
Bob Moore, BlueScope’s President for China operations and a member of the company's executive leadership team, will take on the role of chief executive for the building solutions unit. The division includes more than 5000 employees across 21 manufacturing plants in eight countries.
Mr Sanjay Dayal, Chief Executive BlueScope Asia and a member of the ELT will take be the new chief executive for the building products group. His role also includes responsibility for the North American Steelscape and ASC Profiles businesses with their 3300 employees at 29 manufacturing plants in seven countries.
BlueScope said the management changes will take effect on July 1, 2012, but will not affect the current financial year's results.
