ArcelorMittal Jinxi has awarded Danieli an order for a six-stand cold-strip mill, that is to be installed in Changzhou, China.
The cold-rolling tandem mill will consist of six, 6-hi stands, in order to process high-grade non-oriented silicon steel products.
The products of this mill will be used in electric vehicle applications as part of the New Energy Magnetic Material (NEMM) project.
The mill will also feature:
- A dynamic roll and strip oil-lubrication system
- X-Dry precision strip cleaning
- The Dan-Joint drive shaft system paired with an automatic thin oil-lubrication unit
Danieli hope that these features will aid in areas of production such as minimising strip breaks, extending service life and reducing maintenance efforts.
ArcelorMittal Jinxi is a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and China Oriental Group.
The mill is planned to be operational in 24 months.
