Major Arab crude steel producers had a rise of 21.28% in their Q1 2010 output compared to the same period of 2009.

Qatar Steel had an increase of 87.5% producing 480kt in Q1 compared to 258kt in Q1 2009.

Hadeed SABIC rose 41.79% producing 1.33Mt compared to 938kt last year. Overall output for the first quarter was 1.454Mt, an 11.25% increase from 1.307Mt the year before.

However, the Libyan Iron & Steel Company production declined 39.8%. It produced 180kt in Q1 2010 compared to 298kt in Q1 2009.
