Acero Prime, in a joint venture between Reliance Steel’s Feralloy Corporation, US Steel and Mitsui USA, plans to expand operations at its Ramos Arizpe, Mexico facility.

The investment includes a 55000ft2 building expansion and the acquisition of a new Multi-Blanking Line to service the Appliance and Automotive industry in Mexico.

Features included in the new equipment are capability to handle 72” wide and 30t coils and an auto-adjusted two-cassette leveler.

Acero Prime’s current infrastructure, including four 32t overhead cranes, rail spur capacity, real-time EDI capability, and skilled personnel, will support the new services. Commissioning is expected by November 2010.
