A US$14.1M facility producing iron ore pellets, the largest of its kind in Vietnam, was inaugurated in Vi Xuyen district, the north-western province of Ha Giang on October 15 after over one year of construction.
The factory, uses advanced technology and equipment and is capable of producing 300kt/y of iron ore pellets to serve the Hoa Phat Integrated Steel Complex and nationwide iron furnaces.
The plant is expected to generate jobs for more than 200 ethnic minority people with an average monthly income of over 4 million VND ($188). It is to contribute over 20 billion VND ($940000) to the State budget.
