The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) has reported that for the month of January 2019, US steel mills shipped 8Mt (net tons), a 3.5% increase from the 7.8Mt (net tons) shipped in the previous month, December 2018, and a 5.8% increase from the 7,6Mt (net tons) shipped in January 2018.
A comparison of January shipments to the previous month of December shows the following changes: cold rolled sheet, up 7%, hot dipped galvanised sheet and strip, up 5%, and hot rolled sheets, up 3%.
