German steel giant ThyssenKrupp has grouped all of its plant technology businesses under the umbrella of ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions in an effort to ‘better exploit global market opportunities’.

ThyssenKrupp CEO Heinrich Hiesinger said the move was an important element of the company’s transition into ‘a diversified industrial group’.

Dr. Hans Christoph Atzpodien, CEO of ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions said that combining the strengths of the group’s plant technology businesses will increase its impact in the growth regions of the world. He added that the plan was to increase sales by, on average, more than 5% per annum over the coming years.

The two companies that now become part of ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions are ThyssenKrupp Polysius and ThyssenKrupp Fordertechnik.

Within ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions there are two groups – Process Technologies and Resource Technologies. The former is focused upon engineering, procurement and construction while the latter concentrates on developing a range of products for the mining, cement, mineral processing and materials handling industries.
