Global steelmaker Tata Steel was recently awarded with the prestigious Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board (JSPCB) award for its environmental protection work.

The company received the award at a seminar entitled Environment Responsibility for Sustainable Development at the BNR Hotel Chanakya in Ranchi, India.

AK Mishra, chairman of the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board presented the award to Satish Singh, chief resident executive, Ranchi, and Shubhanand Mukesh, Environment, Jamshedpur, of Tata Steel.

The awards were presented on World Environment Day (5th June).

Other recent awards won by the global steelmaker are the Golden Peacock National Training Award 2014 and the Dun and Bradstreet Corporate Awards 2014.
