Tata Steel has acquired two service centres from SSAB and bought a third service centre in Scandinavia.

The three centres are located in Halmstad (Sweden) Naantali (Finland) and Frederikstad (Norway) and, claims Tata Steel, will offer cut-to-length, slitting and recoiling services to the steelmaker’s customers in the automotive, construction and electrical industries.

According to Tata Steel, ‘ having sites in these important regions gives us the opportunity to offer local expertise to customers combined with the backing of a wider, European-wide distribution network and an integral steel supply.”
