Asil Celik from Orhangazi, Turkey, has commissioned SMS Concast, Switzerland, to supply of a new three-strand billet caster.
The continuous caster will produce round blooms of diameter of 300 to 600mm with a production capacity of 600kt/y. Start-up is scheduled for the first quarter 2015.
Asil Celik is the largest company of its kind in Turkey accounting for 60% of Turkey’s total quality steel production and exporting approximately 40% of output.
The product range includes hot rolled, heat treated, alloyed, non-alloyed as well as high-alloyed steel products in round, square, hexagonal, flat shape as well as sections for grading buckets. The products are used in automotive, automotive supplier, Original-Equipment-Manufacturer (OEM) and engineering industries.
