PJSC Yenakiieve Iron and Steel Works (EMZ), a Ukrainian steel producer, has ordered a new sinter plant to be built at its Yenakiieve Plant in the Donbass Region by Siemens Metals Technologies. It is designed to produce 4.3Mt of sinter a year.
Employing selective waste gas recirculation will not only cut the quantity of sinter offgas by half, but also reduce coke consumption. The remaining offgas will be cleaned by a Meros plant (Maximized Emission Reduction of Sintering), which will reduce emissions by up to 99%. Construction is scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2014 and commissioning is planned for 2016.
