German steelmaker Salzgitter Flachstahl has awarded Quinlogic the contract to develop and Industry 4.0 Quality Management System for all of its relevant production processes.

Quinlogic, which was established in Aachen, Germany, in 2008 and will be speaking at the inaugural Future Steel Forum conference and exhibition in Warsaw, Poland, next week will be supplying a central QES database solution as well as a software module for automated coil release.

The new system will supplement Salzgitter's existing systems and will go live in 2018.

According to Quinlogic, "the integrated simulation possibility enables the entire set of rules to be checked before being applied on the line, based on the customer’s archived data. In this way, Salzgitter can guarantee production and delivery according to specifications at all times, even if customer requirements change or new rules are used."

In addition to Salzgitter, QuinLogic’s customers now include a large number of well-known steel rolling mills throughout the world. The SMS Group has held a majority interest in the company since 2016.

Quinlogic's QES Quality Assurance System is becoming increasingly popular for steel mills globally as well as developing into the standard for aluminium flat rolling plants.
