Primetals Technologies and Indian steel producer Tata Steel have signed a memorandum of understanding to intensify their collaboration on projects and technology related to green steel and decarbonization.
The signing ceremony took place at Tata Steel’s headquarters in Mumbai, India.

Primetals Technologies is the global frontrunner and we have a broad portfolio in the field of green steel production solutions, including hydrogen-based ironmaking, electric steelmaking, and endless casting and rolling technologies. Tata Steel is working on a plan transition to low-carbon technologies at its steel mills in the UK and the Netherlands, and Primetals Technologies is currently developing a new green steel technology to replace blast furnace plants and has signed a collaboration contract with RHI Magnesita, supplier of refractory innovations.
