State owned Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL), India, has been granted permission to set up a steel plant in Banera, in the Bhilwara district of India, with an investment of INR 25bn (US$4.2M).
The plant will have a capacity of 2Mt/y, and should create 1500 direct and 1000 indirect jobs within the state.
There is also a proposal by RINL for a further steel plant in Jahazpur, also in the Bhilwara district, which if approved would have an annual 4.6Mt/y capacity.
