Russian steelmaker NLMK Group, has launched the Russian version of Steeluniversity, an educational website from the World Steel Association (worldsteel).
Steeluniversity is a worldsteel educational project and is a collection of e-learning resources and interactive simulations covering major aspects of iron, steelmaking and rolling operations.
Tailoring the Steeluniversity for the Russian-speaking audience began two years ago on the initiative of NLMK Group's Corporate University. Experts from NLMK organised the translation of the website itself, its educational games and 3D-models. A number of training e-courses are still being finalised and will be added to the website as soon as they become available.
Valentina Satarova, head of NLMK's Corporate University, commented: “We are proud that it was NLMK who initiated the localisation of this unique resource on steel technologies for the Russian-speaking audience. Today, most of the website has already been translated, but our work doesn’t end here. The website will be updated, new programmes and simulations will be added to its collection. Steeluniversity website is intended for use by steel companies and industry-specific educational institutions for training recent graduates, career guidance or as induction for new employees”.
